Dear American Express, I would like to entered the Members Project and compete for the 5 million dollars.
I know my technology will help the environment where every flammable highway flares are used which is world wide. It will also keep officers from burning to death in onboard fires caused by flammable flares.
I Ted Watson am a police officer with one of the largest metropolitan police departments in America. I have been using flammable highway flares in the line of duty for almost thirty years now. I have been in the street all of my career and know that 48% of the officers killed in the line of duty are killed in a traffic related incidents. Officers have nothing to visually tell motorist which direction to go. IE stop, go right, road closed etc, etc. another problem officers face is flares which are hazardous to the environment (green house gases) and to humans, and Officers are driving cars that burn when involved in a collision. With that said,
I invented, patented, and have taken to market an Emergency Road Light Kit. The answer to officer safety and the solution to pollution.
My technologies: Hold two United States patents
My technologies are non-flammable reusable electric-reflective highway flares called”Road Lights” and comes with a carrying case for rapid deployment and recovery of the Road Lights. It also has signs that tell motorist which direction to go and or what the police officer wants them to do. Police departments around the country are using it with great success. It saves government agencies hundreds of thousands of dollars, it prevents green house gases, is not harmful to officers and the environment, and will keep officers from getting hit by motor vehicles.
Flares have polluted our drinking water, the Department of Health services has collected data which shows per chlorate currently contaminates 354 drinking water sources throughout the state that provide drinking water to millions of Californians. Substantial efforts to eliminate per chlorate from products have been made throughout the world in both the private and public sectors. On March 3, 2003 United States Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) introduced legislation to protect drinking water from contamination by the toxic chemical per chlorate.
Flammable highway flairs contaminate all parts of the world with the following hazardous materials. Strontium Nitrate: Contact with skin can cause irritation, chemical burns can occur on eye contact. Inhalation of Strontium Nitrate can cause irritation of the mucous membranes of the nose, throat, and respiratory tract.
Potassium Per chlorate: Can cause irritation of the skin, eyes, and mucous membranes lining the respiratory system. Shortness of breath and difficulty breathing may be seen with the presence of methemoglobinemia, Ingestion likely causes nausea, vomiting, and abdominal cramping. And is a powerful oxidizer when exposed to heat or flame.
Sulfur: Poison by ingestion, is a human eye irritant. Inhalation can cause irritation of the mucous membranes. Combustible when exposed to heat or flame.
The Ford Crown Victoria Police vehicle is used by Law Enforcement all across America and has seriously injured and killed officers when the car is involved in a collision. The gas tank is bad place and ruptures when hit from behind. Please go to web site http://www.firepanel.net/images/07-15-03%20Test%20Shows%20Failure%20of%20Trunk%20Pack.pdf for details.
Respectively Submitted
